The massive rocket strikes in the Gaza Strip continue
Israel and the Gaza Strip continue their missile strikes against each other for the past 24 hours. The situation in the region is tense, forcing the UN to send its representative Nikolay Mladenov to Egypt in order to launch informal talks between the warring countries.
A massive rocket attack on central and southern Israel was struck from the Gaza Strip tonight, according to international agencies.
At the same time, Israeli air forces fired rockets. A six-member Palestinian family, all civilians, were killed.
The tension came after Israeli forces killed one of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad group Baha Abu al-Ata on November 12th.
This led to a reaction from the Gaza Strip followed by rocket fire. According to various Israeli media, more than 50 rockets were fired at southern Israel.
All early warning sirens in central and southern Israel were activated, and the Iron Dome air defense systems were fully operational.
